Elf On The Shelf – Welcome “Joy!”

elfWe welcome “Joy,” our new “Elf on the Shelf” to the school library! Joy is here to watch and report to Santa Claus. She arrived yesterday with a book called, “Elf on the Shelf.” She has brought a lot of “joy” to the students already!


New Website

Web-under-constructionOur school website will be changing over to a new look, designed by the Simcoe Board of Education. It will take awhile to transfer information over from the old site to the new. In the meantime, if you cannot find what you are looking for on our new site at http://tbe.scdsb.on.ca/ , you can always check out this site at tbes.edublogs.org! Eventually, this site will not get updated regularly and you will need to look for information on our new site which again can be found at http://tbe.scdsb.on.ca/

Alliston Hornets Visit Tec Beeton

hornetsMembers of the Alliston Hornets Hockey team will be visiting our junior students on Friday, November 21, to speak to the students about the importance of good character/sportsmanship and effort, on and off of the ice. What a great way to help us learn how to set “goals” to be successful in all that we do!

Fundraising Options

knit wits xWe have a number of fundraisers available for you to choose from to help support our school. The McMillan Frozen Cookie Dough and Muffin batter fundraiser helps to support our grade 8 trip. Orders are due Thursday, November 20th and orders will need to be picked up on Thursday, December 4 from 3:25-5:00 p.m. We also have another fundraiser of cute winter hats. Order your Knit Wit products for us by Friday, November 21 and proceeds will go towards schoolyard improvements and general school needs. If you would like to start decorating for the holidays, perhaps you would like to purchase a poinsettia. Orders are due on Friday, November 28. Proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards the purchase of technology and general school needs. In the post below, you can read more about our Hockey Night with The Colts on December 13th, where proceeds of this fundraiser will go to support athletics and general school needs. Barrie Colts Hockey Night Fundraiser – December 13

coltsHockey Night is back! Come watch the Barrie Colts play the Kitchener Rangers on December 13. Tickets will be sold for $19 each and $6 will go towards fundraising for the school. Orders are due Wednesday, December 3. Proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards supporting athletics and general school needs. Hope to see you there!

Literacy Rocks With Author Sigmund Brouwer

photoCanadian author, Sigmund Brouwer combined the love of music and literacy to promote the importance of story. With a mixture of music, humour and story development, Sigmund was able to captivate the audience in an interactive presentation. Sigmund will be appearing tonight in the Banting High School cafeteria at 7 p.m. along with five other authors for a meet and greet.

VeteranButtons_Wren Mrs. Wren’s grade 4/5 class participated in making buttons to honour our soldiers for Remembrance Day. Students researched and wrote the names of fallen soldiers and added pictures, which were created into buttons and displayed at the Board office in Barrie.
